- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. vegetable oil
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 c. fig preserves
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- Buttermilk Candy Frosting
Directions

1Combine flour, cornstarch, soda, salt and spices; set aside. Combine eggs, oil, buttermilk, sugar and vanilla; beat until smooth.

2Stir in flour mixture, fig preserves and pecans.

3Pour batter into a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

4Bake at 325° for 45 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

5Spread Buttermilk Candy Frosting over warm cake.
