- 2 c. self-rising corn meal
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 c. butter or mayonnaise, melted
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Combine dry ingredients; mix well.

2Add remaining ingredients and stir until batter is smooth.

3Place 2 well-greased cast-iron corn stick pans in a 450° oven for 5 minutes.

4Remove pans from oven.

5Spoon batter into pans, filling 2/3 full.

6Bake at 450° for 12 to 15 minutes or until browned.

7Yields 14 corn sticks.
