- 2 lb. haddock fillets
- 1 large onion
- 2 stalks celery, sliced small
- 2 medium potatoes, sliced
- 2 c. water, salted
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 qt. milk
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. water (plain)
Directions

1In small kettle, cut up haddock.

2Cook until tender in 1/2 cup water; lay aside.

3In large iron or heavy kettle, cut up onion, celery and potatoes.

4Cook until tender in 2 cups water (salted). When tender, put in cooked fish.

5Add salt, pepper, milk and butter.

6Put on low flame until well heated.

7Do not bring to a boil.
