  • 6 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 2 c. light corn syrup
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts

Directions

    Combine sugar, milk, syrup and butter in saucepan.

    Cook without stirring until mix reaches 240° on candy thermometer, or forms soft ball in cold water (about 25 minutes).

    This scorches easily so watch carefully.

    Remove from heat; beat with electric mixer until creamy, about 10 minutes.

    Stir in walnuts.

    Pour into a buttered 10 x 15-inch pan.

    Let stand until set.

    Cut into pieces; store in refrigerator.
