  • 2/3 c. catsup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/3 c. lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. basil
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 bay leaf, crushed
  • 1 tsp. cracked pepper
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 1/2 lb. flank steak, seared

Directions

    Simmer all ingredients together, except steak, 10 minutes. Cool to room temperature.

    Marinate steak overnight, turning occasionally.

    Broil over hot coals (charcoal) about 5 minutes on each side.

    Slice very thin across grain and serve.
