  • 5 Eggs, Separated
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 3/4 cups White Sugar
  • 3/4 cups Plain Flour
  • 1/4 cups Cornstarch

Directions

    Preheat oven to 160C (320°F).

    Place egg whites and salt in a mixing bowl and beat until thick. Gradually add sugar 1 tablespoon at a time until mixture is glossy.

    Add egg yolks to egg whites and sugar and stir to combine. Add flour and cornstarch. Mix carefully using a wooden spoon or plastic spatula.

    Pour batter into prepared baking pan (20 cm). Bake until cake begins to to shrink away from the sides of the pan and a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, about 35-40 minutes.
