  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 3/4 c. shortening
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg

Directions

    With fork, mix flour, shortening, sugar and salt.

    In another bowl beat vinegar, egg and water.

    Combine two mixtures with fork until all ingredients are moistened.

    Will be somewhat soggy until mixed for awhile until it forms into a ball.

    Chill at least 15 minutes before rolling.

    May be kept in refrigerator up to 3 days or frozen until ready to use.

    Makes 2 (9-inch) double crust pies and 1 (9-inch) shell.
