Foolproof Pie Crust

Ingredients

  • 4 c. regular white flour
  • 1 3/4 c. shortening (i.e. Crisco)
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 large egg

Directions

    Combine flour, shortening, sugar and salt.

    Mix very well. Combine vinegar, water and egg and add to flour mixture.

    Mix with hand until it forms 1 large ball.

    Chill 15 minutes.

    Divide into 6 balls.

    Roll on lightly floured board.

    Makes 6 single crusts or 3 double.

    crust may be frozen or refrigerated.
