Foolproof Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients

  • 6 Green bell pepper
  • 300 grams Combined ground beef and pork
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 100 ml Panko
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1/2 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Flour
  • 1 dash of each Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp Mirin
  • 1 tbsp Sake
  • 100 ml Water

    Finely chop the onion, and microwave for 3 minutes at 500 W. Let cool.

    Mix the ingredients together.

    Combine the ingredients from steps 1 and 2 with the ground meat, salt and pepper, and mix together very well.

    Wash the bell peppers, pat dry and cut in half.

    Remove the seeds while leaving the stem end on.

    Put the bell pepper halves and flour in a plastic bag, and shake well to coat the bell peppers.

    Stuff the peppers generously with the meat mixture, leaving no gaps.

    The meat should be mounded up above the pepper.

    Heat up a frying pan and add some oil.

    Line the peppers in the pan meat side down, and brown.

    With the peppers still meat side down, add the combined ingredients, cover with a lid and steam-cook.

    Take the lid off and reduce the sauce.
