  • 2 lb. stew meat or chuck, cut up
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 carrots, cut in slant pieces
  • 2 stalks celery, cut in slant pieces
  • 2 Tbsp. minute tapioca
  • 1 c. tomato sauce
  • 1 garlic, crushed
  • potatoes (optional)

Directions

    Sprinkle salt, sugar and tapioca over meat.

    Add 1 cup tomato juice and crushed garlic.

    Put in casserole in layers.

    Bake at 250°.

    Add potatoes 1 hour before done.

    Push potatoes down into juice.
