Ingredients
- 5 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. shortening (I use 1 stick butter and 1 stick margarine)
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 pkg. yeast
Directions

1Sift flour, salt, soda, sugar and baking powder together.

2Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3Dissolve yeast in water and add to buttermilk.

4Add buttermilk to flour all at once.

5Stir dough until it follows fork around bowl.

6Then put on floured surface and knead for 30 seconds.

7Roll out 1-inch thick.

8Cut out biscuits.

9Bake at 425° for 10 minutes.

10Dough may be refrigerated for 4 to 5 days.
