  • 2 c. flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions

    Mix together flour, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt. Cut in the shortening.

    Beat egg and milk together; add to flour mixture.

    Knead, roll out dough and cut biscuits.

    Bake immediately or freeze.

    Do not thaw before baking.

    Bake in 425°. Bake fresh biscuits for about 10 minutes, frozen biscuits for about 20 minutes or until done.
