- 2 c. flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions

1Mix together flour, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt. Cut in the shortening.

2Beat egg and milk together; add to flour mixture.

3Knead, roll out dough and cut biscuits.

4Bake immediately or freeze.

5Do not thaw before baking.

6Bake in 425°. Bake fresh biscuits for about 10 minutes, frozen biscuits for about 20 minutes or until done.
