  • unbaked pastry for a one crust pie
  • about 6 c. pared and sliced pie apples
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1 c. flour

Directions

    Toss together the apples, cinnamon and sugar.

    Place the apple mixture in the pie crust.

    Cream together the butter and brown sugar.

    Use a pastry blender or 2 knives to combine the flour with the creamed mixture until the mixture becomes crumbly.

    Top the pie with this crumbly mixture.

    Bake at 375° for 50 to 60 minutes (until bubbly and lightly browned).
