  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter, melted
  • cinnamon

Directions

    Grease 12 muffin cups.

    Mix thoroughly the shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and egg. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg alternately with milk.

    Fill muffin cups 2/3 full and bake 20 to 25 minutes.

    Mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon.

    Immediately, after baking, roll muffins in butter, then in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Enjoy.
