Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 cake yeast, dissolved in lukewarm water
  • 2 eggs
  • 7 1/2 c. flour (more or less)

Directions

    Pour boiling water over shortening, sugar and salt.

    Add milk. When lukewarm, add the dissolved yeast.

    Add beaten eggs and enough flour to make mixture thick.

    Keep in refrigerator overnight or until cold.

    Roll out in flour.

    Cut into doughnuts. Fry in 400° to 425° shortening.
