  • 2 c. fresh fruit, sliced (if needed)
  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • dash of salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Toss fruit lightly with 1 cup of the sugar.

    Set aside.

    Melt butter in deep baking pan or glass dish in a 350° oven.

    Stir together remaining sugar, flour, baking powder, milk and salt; pour over melted butter.

    Do not stir!

    Put sweetened fruit on top of batter.

    Do not stir!

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until crust is golden brown.

    (The batter will rise to the top during baking.) Makes 6 to 8 servings.
