  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. dry milk (optional)
  • 1 c. warm water or milk
  • 1/2 tsp. melted shortening

Directions

    Sift dry ingredients together.

    Add water and shortening. Knead briefly.

    Let stand 10 to 15 minutes.

    Form into balls, flatten and make a hole in center.

    Fry in oil, turning once until golden brown and crisp.
