  • 8 oz. whole milk Mozzarella (Double H Brand) cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1/2 c. crackers or toasted bread crumbs
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. basil
  • flour
  • peanut oil
  • tomato sauce

    toss in flour.

    Dip in egg; roll in crumbs seasoned with oregano and basil.

    Heat 1-inch peanut oil in heavy skillet

    Fry quickly (about 30 seconds). Serve with tomato sauce. Takes about 45 minutes.
