  • 10 ears Fresh Corn
  • 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 1/4 cups Milk
  • 1/4 cups Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar
  • 1 pinch Ground Red Pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 pinch Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch Dissolved In 2 Tablespoons Water

Directions

    Remove husks and wash corn; cut kernels from the cobs and place in a heavy iron skillet. Add the butter, milk, water, sugar, ground red pepper, salt and pepper to taste. Cook over medium-high heat for approximately 15 minutes (add more water, if necessary).

    In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in 2 tablespoons water until fully dissolved; pour over corn. Cook a few minutes more until the liquid begins to thicken. Add more salt and pepper, if desired.
