- 3 large green tomatoes
- 3/4 c. self-rising flour
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 Tbsp. bacon grease
- vegetable oil
- pinch of sugar
Directions

1Core green tomatoes.

2Cut into 3/8 inch thick slices.

3Mix flour, sugar, salt and pepper.

4Coat tomatoes with mixture and let sit 15 minutes.

5In a cast-iron skillet, heat 1/2 inch oil and bacon grease over medium heat.

6Lightly re-coat tomatoes with flour mixture; brown on both sides for 3 minutes.

7Serve hot.
