Ingredients
- 3 green tomatoes
- 2 c. vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs
Directions

1Wash and slice tomatoes (approximately 1/4-inch slices).

2In a mixing bowl, mix buttermilk and eggs.

3Add half the salt and pepper and 1 tablespoon of flour; mix well.

4Place tomato slices in the buttermilk mixture.

5Preheat the oil to 350° in a heavy skillet or fryer.

6Mix the remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl. Toss tomato slices in flour. Then place in oil and fry until golden brown, turning two or three times.

7Cook until crisp and drain on paper towels.

8Serve immediately.
