Ingredients
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 tsp. vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 tsp. water
- 32 large fresh mushrooms
- 1 c. Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
- vegetable oil
- Tartar Sauce (recipe follows)
Directions

1Combine flour, salt and pepper in a small bowl; set aside. Combine eggs, 1 1/2 teaspoons oil and water; mix well.

2Clean mushrooms with damp paper towels.

3Dredge mushrooms in flour mixture; dip in egg mixture.

4Roll in breadcrumbs.

5Chill at least 1 1/2 hours.

6Deep fry mushrooms in hot oil (375°) until golden brown.

7Drain on paper towels.

8Serve mushrooms with Tartar Sauce.

9Yields 32 appetizers.
