Fried Squash Blossoms

  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • additional oil for frying
  • 12 large squash blossoms or blooms

Directions

    In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, garlic and cumin.

    In another bowl beat egg, milk and oil; add to dry ingredients and stir until smooth.

    In skillet, heat 2 inches of oil to 375°.

    Dip blossoms into batter and fry in oil a few at a time until crispy.

    Drain on paper towels.

    Serve warm.
