- 4 firm green tomatoes
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 c. dry flavored bread crumbs
- 1/3 c. butter
- salt and pepper
Directions

1Cut tomatoes in 3/4-inch slices.

2Dip into egg, then into bread crumbs, then carefully into egg and bread crumbs again. Melt butter in large skillet.

3Add green tomatoes slices and cook slowly until golden brown on each side and tomato is tender. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
