Ingredients
- 1 cup (225 ml) water
- 3/4 cup (175 ml) sugar
- 1 lb (.5 kg). walnut halves
- 1 cup (225 ml) peanut oil
Directions

1Combine water and sugar in saucepan.

2Cook 5 minutes to make syrup.

3Place walnuts in jar with cover; top with syrup.

4Cool; cover; let stand overnight; drain.

5Heat oil in uncovered wok at 325 degrees (175 C.).

6Add nuts in batches; fry 1 to 2 minutes.

7Remove from oil with strainer.

8Drain on paper towels.
-
9Serve immediately.
