  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 pound Ground Pork
  • 1/2 pounds Ground Veal
  • 1/2 cups Club Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons Ground Mace
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoons Ground Pepper
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 whole Onion, Sliced
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1/2 cups Brewed Coffee
  • 1 cup Water

    Grind the various meats three times.

    Some butchers will do this for you.

    Mix ground meat with salt and pepper, mace and club soda.

    Mixture will be very wet.

    The club soda is what will make the meatballs very tender.

    Form into meatballs and brown in a skillet.

    Melt butter in a separate skillet.

    Add sliced onion, and sprinkle with the sugar.

    Cook until goloden brown.

    Pour coffee over, and then water.

    Cook until thickened.

    Add the meatballs to the gravy, and heat.
