Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2/3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. nuts, chopped
- 1/2 c. maraschino cherries, halved
- 1 c. pitted dates, sliced
- 1/2 c. each dried apricots and figs, sliced
- very fine granulated sugar
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each. Add sifted dry ingredients, nuts and fruit; mix well.

4Spread batter into a greased 9-inch square pan.

5Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

6Let stand in pan until cool, or overnight, if desired. Cut into 3 x 1-inch bars.

7Roll each bar in very fine granulated sugar.

8Store in airtight container.

9Will ship well, if airtight. Can be frozen.
