Ingredients

  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 lb. mixed fruit
  • 1 c. dates
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 jar cherries
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1/4 clove
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. milk

Directions

    Mix all dry ingredients, then add mixture of oil, milk, eggs and molasses.

    Next, add fruits, nuts and remaining ingredients. Bake in 300° to 325° oven for an hour at least.

    Soak cheesecloth in orange juice, wrap cake in cheesecloth and set in refrigerator for 48 hours (2 days).
