  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 lb. raisins
  • 1/2 lb. dates
  • 1/2 to 1 c. whiskey
  • 1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 3 Tbsp. buttermilk
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 8 to 10 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 can black walnuts
  • 1 lb. candied pineapple
  • 1 lb. candied cherries

    Mix as you would a fruit cake.

    Mix all dry ingredients, then add remaining fruits.

    Bake at 275° for 25 minutes.
