Fruit Cake Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. bourbon (wine or fruit juice could be substituted)
  • 3/8 c. margarine
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 lb. diced candied citron or mixed fruits
  • 1 lb. whole candied cherries, half red and half green, quartered
  • 1 lb. pecans, broken

Directions

    Mix raisins and bourbon and let stand 1 hour.

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Add eggs; mix.

    Add mixed dry ingredients and mix until well blended.

    Stir in raisin mixture.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Drop by teaspoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes at 325°.

    These keep for weeks or may be frozen.
