Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour (save 1/2 c. flour for fruit)
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 lb. candied cherries
  • 1/2 lb. candied pineapple
  • 6 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 1/2 c. white raisins
  • 1/4 c. brandy or apple juice

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating after each egg and add flour slowly.

    Flour fruit and nuts with remaining 1/2 cup of flour.

    Combine all ingredients.

    Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet.

    Bake at 250° to 300° for about 35 minutes.
