- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. fruit cocktail
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Sift together flour, baking soda and salt and make a well in the center.

2Mix egg, vanilla and fruit cocktail into the dry ingredients and pour into a flat greased pan.

3Combine 1 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup nuts and sprinkle on top of cake.

4Bake 50 minutes at 350°.

5Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

6You can also use the cake recipe without the topping and when you are ready to serve it put hot butterscotch pudding over the cake.
