Fruit Pie(Makes 2 Pies)

Ingredients

  • 1 can red tart cherries, drained (save juice)
  • 1 small can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 2 c. liquid
  • 7 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. red food coloring
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 6 bananas, diced and add lemon juice to keep from turning brown
  • 1 (8 oz.) carton Cool Whip or 2 c. whipped cream
  • 2 baked pie shells

Directions

    Drain cherries and pineapple and add enough water to make 2 cups liquid.

    Add cherries and pineapple.

    Stir in sugar, cornstarch and salt.

    Cook until thick.

    Set aside to cool.

    Then add food color, vanilla, chopped nuts and diced bananas.

    Stir until blended.

    Pour into 2 baked pie shells.

    Top with Cool Whip or whipped cream.
