Ingredients
- 2 c. fresh fruit (strawberries, grapes, apples, etc.)
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice (light colored fruit)
Directions

1Select a ripe or slightly overripe fruit.

2Sort and wash. Remove blemishes.

3Peel, pit, hull, seed and core fruit as necessary.

4Cut fruit in pieces; place in blender.

5Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice per 2 cups of fruit to prevent browning. Blend until smooth.

6If the puree is tart, add 1 tablespoon sugar, corn syrup or honey for each 2 cups of fruit.

7Most fruits do not need added sugar.

8Heat oven to 140°.

9Line a cookie sheet with plastic wrap or spray with a vegetable spray.

10Do not use waxed paper or aluminum foil.

11Spread the puree on plastic wrapped cookie sheet.

12Tilt the cookie sheet back and forth to smooth out any ripples.

13Place the cookie sheet in oven.

14Leave the door slightly open (approximately 2 to 6 inches, depending on oven door) to allow humid air to escape.

15To test for dryness, loosen edge of the leather from the cookie sheet and lift as if to peel back.

16Properly dried leather is slightly sticky to the touch.
