Ingredients

  • 12 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. marshmallow cream or 1 c. miniature marshmallows
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 3/4 c. evaporated milk or 3/4 c. milk

Directions

    Grease a jelly roll pan or a 9 x 9-inch square pan.

    Combine the chocolate and marshmallows and set aside.

    Mix the sugar, butter and milk in a heavy pot, stirring to combine well. Gradually bring to a boil over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

    Wash down the sides of the pan with a pastry brush dipped in cold water.

    Boil, stirring constantly, without touching the sides of pan for 5 minutes.

    Add the chocolate mixture, the salt and vanilla.

    Stir until the chocolate melts; add the nuts. Spread in pan.

    Let stand until firm.

    Store in airtight container.
