  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2/3 c. vegetable oil
  • 1/4 c. boiling water (measured accurately)
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/3 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

    Stir cocoa and baking soda

    in mixing bowl.

    Blend in 1/3 cup vegetable

    oil, add boiling water; stir in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3

    cup vegetable oil; stir until smooth. Add flour, vanilla
