- 34 cup butter or 34 cup margarine
- 34 cup sugar
- 14 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Directions

1Cream the butter until light.

2Gradually beat in the white and brown sugar until creamy and light.

3Beat in the egg and vanilla.

4Melt the chocolate in a small, heavy saucepan over very low heat.

5Stir chocolate into the butter mixture.

6Slowly stir in the salt and flour.

7Combine thoroughly.

8Stir in walnuts.

9Shape into walnut-sized balls.

10Make an indentation with your thumb in each cookie.

11BAke 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes until just done.
