  • 34 cup butter or 34 cup margarine
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 14 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

    Gradually beat in the white and brown sugar until creamy and light.

    Melt the chocolate in a small, heavy saucepan over very low heat.
