  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. cooking oil
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. hot water

    Sift together all dry ingredients and add remaining ingredients.

    Pour into muffin pans, lined with cupcake fillers and bake at 350° until springy, about 18 minutes.

    Cover with chocolate frosting.
