Ingredients

  • 1 c. oleo
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. quick cooking oatmeal
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 small pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cream first 4 ingredients together.

    Add baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, flour and then the oatmeal; set aside.

    In a double boiler, combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, 1/2 teaspoon salt and butter and melt until smooth.

    Add chopped nuts and vanilla.

    Spread 2/3 of first mixture on a large jelly roll pan.

    Cover with chocolate mixture.

    Sprinkle the rest on top. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
