- 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. soft butter or margarine
- 2/3 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 c. chopped pecans
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

3Cream butter with 2/3 cup sugar.

4Add flour mixture with milk, stirring just enough to blend.

5Add 3 tablespoons cocoa, vanilla and nuts.

6Turn into 8-inch square pan.

7Combine remaining dry ingredients.

8Sprinkle over batter.

9Pour boiling water over batter; do not stir.

10Bake for 1 hour.

11Pudding will separate into cake and sauce.

12Cool slightly in pan.

13Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
