- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 cup cream
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup corn syrup
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/2 pound unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
Directions

1In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, cream, milk, corn syrup and butter.

2Cook, stirring frequently, for about 20 minutes, until mixture reaches about 220 degrees and becomes a pale caramel.

3Remove pan from heat, and stir in chocolate until it melts.

4Stir in 1/3 cup water and vanilla.

5Use warm or at room temperature.
