  • 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • Oil
  • Powdered sugar

Directions

    Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add eggs and milk. Beat until smooth.

    Heat 1/4 inch of oil in a heavy skillet to 375 degrees.

    Cover the bottom of a funnel with your finger and pour 1/4 cup batter into funnel.

    Hold funnel over hot oil and remove finger. Move funnel in circular motion to form whatever design you want.

    Fry for 2 minutes for until brown. Turn over and brown other side.

    Drain on paper towels.

    Sprinkle with powdered sugar or serve hot with syrup.

    Repeat and repeat until everyone is stuffed.
