  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 14 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • 1 (20 ounce) can whole tomatoes
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 14 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 12 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 lb ricotta cheese
  • 1 lb mozzarella cheese
  • 12 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 12 lb lasagna noodle (9 pieces)

    Brown ground beef.

    Drain.

    In olive oil cook onion till transparent.

    Add garlic to onion and just heat through.

    In a dutch oven add whole tomatoes (break into pieces), tomato paste, onion and garlic, ground beef, salt, pepper, basil, bay leaf and oregano.

    Simmer 1 hour until sauce thickens.

    Remove bay leaf.

    Cook lasagna noodles.

    Drain and rinse.

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Grease 13 x 9 pan with olive oil.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
