Garlic Bites

- 4 ounces self-rising flour
- 2 ounces butter
- 2 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated (or any strong sharp cheese)
- 2 -4 garlic cloves, crushed (to taste)
- 12 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1 tablespoon cold water (more or less, as needed)
- salt
Directions

1First, sift the flour into a bowl.

2Mix in the mustard powder and the crushed garlic.

3Slice the butter and slowly mix into the flour.

4Mix in the cheese slowly as you go along.

5Continue to combine the ingredients, adding a little cold water at the end if necessary to get a nice ball of pastry dough.

6Place the pastry in the fridge to rest for about 15 minutes.

7Meanwhile heat the oven to 400* F.

8Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured board to form a square about 8 inches square.

9With a sharp knife divide the pastry into eighths in each direction to give 64 small squares.

10Transfer the squares to a greased baking tray.

11Arrange the garlic bites with a little space between them.

12Sprinkle a little salt across the tops.

13Bake for 10 to 15 minutes.

14Remove and allow to cool.

15Transfer the garlic bites to an airtight container.

16They will keep for several days.
