Garlic Bread Sticks

Ingredients
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 2 c. warm water
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 5 1/2 c. flour
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 egg
Directions

1Soften 1 package active dry yeast in warm water.

2Add salt. Blend in 3 cups flour and garlic cloves, mashed well.

3Add 2 to 2 1/2 cups more flour.

4Knead until smooth.

5Put into a greased bowl. Cover and let stand 2 hours until doubled.

6Punch down.

7Let stand 10 minutes, covered.

8Roll sections of dough into long sticks (about 8 or 10).

9Place on greased cookie sheets.

10Brush with 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon milk.

11Let rise in warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.

12Again brush with egg and sprinkle on garlic salt.

13Bake at 400° for 18 to 20 minutes.
