Ingredients: 1/2 c. butter; 1/2 c. sugar; 1 tsp. lemon rind; 2 eggs; 1 c. flour; 1 tsp. baking powder; 1/2 tsp. salt; 1 c. peach slices; 1/3 c. sugar; 1/2 tsp. cinnamon; 1/4 c. chopped nuts

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. lemon rind
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. peach slices
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Directions

Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar.

Add lemon rind; beat.

Add eggs.

Mix next 3 dry ingredients and add to batter a little at a time.

Pour half of batter into greased 9 x 9-inch square pan. Place drained peach slices over batter.

Add remaining batter to cover peaches.

Combine remaining ingredients and pour over peaches.

Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.

Cut in squares and serve with whipped cream.
