- 1 c. Crisco
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tsp. butter or margarine
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 pkg. German sweet chocolate
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cream together Crisco and sugar.

2Add eggs, vanilla, butter and buttermilk.

3Mix well and add chocolate that has been melted over hot water.

4Blend well.

5Combine flour, soda and salt; stir into other mixture.

6Bake in prepared 9-inch tube pan 1 1/2 hours at 300°.
