- 1 medium red cabbage, quartered and sliced into 1/4-inch strips
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 apple (Granny Smith), peeled and sliced
- 4 slices bacon, cut into small bits
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. red wine
- 1 bay leaf
Directions

1Saute bacon until yellow, leave fat and add cabbage, onion and apple.

2Cover and turn occasionally, until cabbage cooks down and moisture disappears.

3Add sugar, salt, bay leaf and red wine. Simmer for 30 minutes.

4Serve with pork roast or pork chops.
