- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 unpeeled apple, cored and sliced
- 1 medium red cabbage, shredded
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. white vinegar or cider vinegar
- 3/4 tsp. salt (optional)
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Coat inside of large Dutch oven with cooking spray.

2Saute onion and apple until tender.

3Add all remaining ingredients. Cover and cook until tender, about 1 hour.

4Serve hot or cold. Yields 10 servings.

5Can be frozen in serving portions.
