  • 1 teaspoon gingerroot, freshly grated
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup carbonated water
  • 1 lemon, juice of
  • 1 pinch cayenne powder (optional)

Directions

    Bring the ginger and plain water to a boil; then reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.

    Remove from heat and cover.

    Let steep an additional 10 minutes.

    Strain and add carbonated water and lemon juice just before serving as well as cayenne powder if using.
